photoadaymay: “someone that (sic) inspires you”

He’s a teenager, so I won’t show his face. This was taken at the Dankhaus, a German-American cultural center in Lincoln Square. We went there over Spring Break to see an exhibit on Grimm fairy tales. He wasn’t happy to be there and we argued some. Later, though, he had the ability to apologize for his behavior. I don’t know many adults who can do that, much less almost-15-year-old boys.

He reminds me so much of how difficult it was to be his age and I love that he has a better life than I did then. He’s an amazing kid with a sometimes-sharp tongue, and I love him more than he will realize for a very long time.
